At 43 years of age I decided the time was right to pursue my passion and love of animals, specifically dogs and set up a Dog Walking and Small Pet Care Business based in Shepshed. I have lived in Shepshed all of my life.

From a very young age I owned and cared for dogs along with other animals (Dogs, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Ferrets, Chickens, Birds and Fish - our house basically resembled a petting zoo!). I cared for these animals and learnt from my dad all he knew which continued throughout the years dealing with dogs of all breeds and ages including puppies. I would also care for friends and families dogs learning about different breeds, their characters and behaviours along with volunteering at the dog rescue centre local to Shepshed in my late teens.

Fast forward a few years of having a successful career, marriage and a son I very suddenly lost my dad and this put my whole life into perspective and I decided to pursue my dream of working with dogs and animals. 

 

I have successfully completed the IMDT Professional Dog Walking Course studying laws, risks, canine welfare, handling, body language and breed typical behaviour. I have also completed the First Aid Course in Emergency Canine Care including CPR. I am DBS checked and fully insured.

This is when 'Best Paws Forward' was officially started. I have been asked a few times how I chose the name and it's from the saying  'Always put your best foot forward".

With a passion for animal care, I ensure every walk is safe,  filled with fun and excitement and making sure your dogs receive the attention and exercise they need. I will always care for your dog or animal as if they were my own as I understand that they too are members of your family. 

​

I am based in Shepshed and will also cover surrounding areas such as Hathern, Belton, Long Whatton and Diseworth.
